Andy Payne

Lower Chattahoochee Soil and Water Conservation District, Georgia

Andy Payne is a board supervisor of the Lower Chattahoochee Soil and Water Conservation District in southwest Georgia. Agriculture is no stranger to Andy: “As a fifth-generation farmer, I have been around agriculture and seen conservation from the ground up,” he shared. Growing up, he started to realize the importance of taking care of the resources and land for generations to come. The progress his farm has made over time is something that he is most proud of.

As a 2026 cohort member, Andy is excited to gain a new perspective and understanding of the National Conservation Foundation. He also looks forward to learning new skills to be a good steward of the land. Andy is excited to broaden his horizons and become a better leader and decision-maker.

Above everything, Andy values his faith and family. When he is not on the farm, he is building fellowship through his church and his small community. His relationship with his family is what Andy is most proud of. He is excited as the transition of the next generation gets involved in his operation.
