There has never been a more important time to invest in the conservation leaders of tomorrow.

NCF programs and partnerships advance locally-led conservation and work to develop the next generation of conservation leaders. Our two flagship programs, the NCF-Envirothon and Next Generation Leadership Institute (NGLI) help deliver those results.

Now in its fourth year, the Next Generation Leadership Institute (NGLI) has leveled up the Foundation’s efforts to cultivate the next generation of conservation leaders and equip them with skills and resources related to personal, civic and organizational leadership development.

The NCF-Envirothon is an international high school environmental and natural resources program and competition. Through your support, NCF has continued to run this problem-solving competition that builds leadership experience. Its mission is to educate students about the environment and conservation of natural resources through hands-on outdoor experiences, academic study and collaborative competitions.

The program is now in its 43rd year, which speaks to the continued success of the program. The program winners are rewarded with scholarships, encouraging their continued education into conservation.

The 2022 NCF-Envirothon was hosted by the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts and was a huge success with 40 teams from across the U.S. and Canada participating. We are expecting an even higher turnout in 2023 and are thrilled to have the Envirothon New Brunswick hosting the 2023 competition in Sackville, New Brunswick from July 23-29, 2023.
