The National Conservation Foundation works hard to provide educational opportunities to the next generation of conservation leaders through our global Envirothon and Next Generation Leadership Institute (NGLI) programs. 

These sought-after programs recognize and equip remarkably passionate individuals with the tools to become national leaders through personal, civic and organizational leadership development.

Our Programs

Envirothon – Since its beginnings in 1979, hundreds of thousands of students have participated in the Envirothon across the United States, Canada, China and Singapore. The program’s mission is to educate students about the environment and conservation of natural resources through hands-on outdoor experiences, academic study and collaborative competitions. Next Generation Leadership Institute (NGLI) – Launched in 2019, this program has provided dozens of conservation district leaders with the tools to become national leaders through personal, civic, and organizational leadership development. Learn more about our leadership work.
