National Conservation Foundation Announces the Start of the 2023 NCF-Envirothon Annual Competition

The National Conservation Foundation (NCF) is pleased to announce that the 34th annual NCF-Envirothon Competition will start on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Hosted in partnership with Envirothon New Brunswick and Science East Science Center, this year’s competition will be held July 23-29 at Mount Allison University in Tantramar, New Brunswick, Canada.

Wendee Dodds, natural resources specialist for the Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) in Jefferson County, Ohio, has always been drawn to the outdoors, earning the nickname of “Frog Lady” by the seventh grade. However, she couldn’t see how to transform her love for nature into a future career, until an experience in her senior year of high school changed it all.

Next Generation Leadership Institute: A Look Back

The Next Generation Leadership Institute (NGLI), created in 2018 and launched in 2019, was established to equip conservation district leaders with tools to become national leaders through personal, civic, and organizational leadership development. The program was created in response to a high demand for leadership instruction for conservation district leaders facing the challenges of a changing world.
